I finally got my surgical consult appt.  It went well.  I waited for a loonnnng time since they were running late, and then Dr. Mueller talked really really fast! LOL!  I don’t know if that was normal for him of just because he was running behind…?

Anyway, it went well!  They gave me a list of tests I need to get done first.  EKG, Chest X-ray, Blood tests and psych exam.  Also, since I have a lot of pain associated with my hernia, he wants me to get an upper GI test.  He told me that there isn’t usually a lot of pain with a hernia.  That they usually just “slip in and out unnoticed.”  So that worries me a bit.  He said the upper GI will check to see if there are any obstructions causing my extreme pain.

So I have a lot of appointments to make on Monday.  But I’m excited to get this party started!

but it was to the wrong doctor!  *grr!*  So I had to call my PCP office…again…and ask for them to redo the referral so I can go see Dr. George Mueller. I hear he is very good and has a really great office staff.  I did get my questionnaires faxed over to his office today so YAY me!

So my little blog here has changed SO many times!  But it always ends up neglected.  I’m always busy posting on my family blog instead of my personal one.  I started this one as a surrogacy journal, then changed and used it for my scrapbooking.  Now it’s taking on a new form…that of my weight loss journey.

I went yesterday (Saturday) to my local Sharp Hospital’s WLS seminar.  It is required by everyone requesting some sort of weight loss surgery.  It ended up being very informative.  I’m so glad I went.  But while I went thinking that I was going to pursue a Lapband, I have since changed my mind.  I am now going to try and get approved for the RNY (Gastric Bypass).  I’m very excited and scared about this.  But fortunately, my husband is very supportive.  My mom is scared, but I think she is coming around.    So now this will be the land of all things related to my personal WLS.  I hope someone finds it useful.  If not, that’s ok.  It will be a way for me to remember where I was and why I needed to change.
